Help your children play their way to a healthier lifestyle. At least 60 minutes of physical activity a day is necessary to ensure balance in children’s lives. It doesn’t need to be all at once. It can be 20 minutes here and 30 minutes there. If your kids aren’t getting that on a regular basis, talk to them about ways they can reach this goal. Children’s skills and preferences are different so help them come up a plan that they’ll enjoy. Give them the support they need —free time outside, time with friends to play, DVDs, equipment, transportation to classes or teams—to make an active lifestyle a reality.
